Zentangle Inspired Art
The exercise was to figure out what to let go of and what to move toward. (1/10/16)
What to do with two old journal pages that I intensely disliked? Well, cover them up with paint and positivity, of course! 9/20/15
I finally took the plunge and did my very first Zentangle today. I shamelessly copied The ART gEEK's design on YouTube and am ever so grateful for the clear lesson she gave! Because I'm crazy for color - aren't we all? - I used markers to color in the page. Some of these markers are over 5 years old and most are still as juicy as the day I bought them!! Happy! I loved every minute of this and am super happy with the end result. I can see there will be more tangles in my future! 7/4/15
Zentangle inspired journal page - black & white and colored. Trying to figure out which one I prefer....oh heck, who am I kidding? I LOVE the colored one!! So much fun!! I used Staedtler pigment liners (which seem to bleed!!), Tombows, Spectrum Aqua and Spectrum Noir markers. I've been working in a journal with thin paper - think I need to switch to a watercolor journal so I can use water with the water-based markers. 7/11/15

This journal spread is *completely* outside of my comfort zone & I haven't decided whether or not I like it. I've been trying to incorporate some Zentangle doodling into my journal pages. On this one I used the red paint as "strings". Everything was completely unplanned (and probably looks that way). I used my new Fude ball pen to color in the larger black areas - it really (REALLY!) writes over everything. But, it remains quite wet for some time so it's easy to accidentally smear the ink. 8/2
